MoonSigns Hello again, Hope the New Year is off to a good start for you. Before we know it, we'll be getting out the Valentines. Of course, the Stars will always keep us on our toes in their constant motion around the heavens. Since Moon makes a complete orbit around the Zodiac in less than a month, she's constantly influencing our natal charts (map of the position of the planets at one's time and place of birth), as well as aspecting (forming angles with) the other planets that are constantly orbiting, the Zodiac. Moon rules the emotions, the soul, so to speak. So the Moon Sign (sign Moon was in at time and place of one's birth) is a significant factor in a natal chart. Since Moon can start out in any of the 12 signs at month's beginning, we'll just start with Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac, and discuss the characteristics of Moon in each sign. An Aries Moon produces openness to new ideas and self-motivation. There is a strong underlying drive for success; feelings tend to compete with the ego much of the time. An Aries Moon can make for quick decisions, trusting sense perceptions, and acting immediately without reflection. Moon in Aries can be very comfortable for Sun Signs Aries, Aquarius, Gemini, Sagittarius, and Leo; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Libra, Capricorn, and Cancer. A Taurus Moon emphasizes the material side of life, and emotions are centered on the comforts and possessions in life. Moon in Taurus is very comfortable for Sun Signs Taurus, Pisces, Cancer, Capricorn, and Virgo; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Scorpio, Aquarius, and Leo. Moon in Gemini makes for mobility, freedom, unwillingness to be tied down or restricted by emotional demands. Moon in Gemini is very comfortable for Sun Signs Gemini, Aries, Aquarius, Leo, Libra; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Sagittarius, Pisces, and Virgo A Cancer Moon gives a strong drive for recognition and acceptance; has a strong love for home and family; staunchly protective of personal security. Moon in Cancer is very comfortable for Sun Signs Cancer, Taurus, Pisces, Virgo, and Scorpio; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Capricorn, Aries, and Libra In Leo, Moon produces emotions that are carefree, gay, and often pleasure-seeking. A Leo Moon commands respect. Reactions are straight-forward and usually dignified, garnering esteem and responsibility. Moon in Leo is very comfortable for Sun Signs Leo, Gemini, Aries, Libra, and Sagittarius; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio. A Virgo Moon generates a definite reserve in expression, and a personality that is often critical and analytical. Moon in Virgo is very comfortable for Sun Signs Virgo, Cancer, Taurus, Scorpio, and Capricorn; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Pisces, Gemini, and Sagittarius. A Libra Moon gives a sense of understanding, tolerance, and gentleness. The Libra Moon is adaptable, shunning disputes and disorder. Moon in Libra is very comfortable for Sun Signs Libra, Leo, Gemini, Sagittarius, and Aquarius; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Aries, Cancer, and Capricorn. A Scorpio Moon produces emotional responses that are intense, secretive, and passionate. Emotions are powerful, can seek to control, and are determined to accomplish goals. Moon in Scorpio is very comfortable for Sun Signs Scorpio, Virgo, Cancer, Capricorn and Pisces; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius. A Sagittarius Moon is restless, wants to always feel free to roam and wander. Emotions are jubilant, enthusiastic and highly optimistic. Moon in Sagittarius can be comfortable for Sun Signs Sagittarius, Libra, Aquarius, Leo, and Aries; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces. A Capricorn Moon is determined, steadfast and reliable. Although emotions are reserved and sensitive to slights, the Capricorn best demonstrates love and care by being steady, dependable and providing for financial needs. Moon in Capricorn can be comfortable for Sun Signs Capricorn, Scorpio, Pisces; Virgo, and Taurus; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Cancer, Libra and Aries. An Aquarius Moon produces reactions which are progressive, but often erratic, very broad-minded and imaginative, but also likely to be somewhat impractical and perhaps lacking in common sense. The Aquarius Moon is able to analyze others, but often lacks true emotional understanding. Moon in Aquarius can be comfortable for Sun Signs Aquarius, Sagittarius, Aries, Libra, and Gemini; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Leo, Scorpio, and Taurus. Most astrologers agree that the Pisces Moon is the most psychic of all, neither analytical nor critical. A Pisces Moon generates affection and understanding for all people; is tremendously unselfish, trusting and open-handed. Moon in Pisces can be very comfortable for Sun Signs Pisces, Capricorn, Taurus, Scorpio, and Cancer; not so comfortable for Sun Signs Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini. Quite a lot, hey?
